MSI GS60 GHOST PRO 4K-079 Gaming Laptop Review

Introduction

I’ve been using 4k screens since they became fairly affordable over the past year. During this time I’ve missed my old 4K display more than what I’ve been enjoying the other 4k. The reasons are partly personal and partly technical, as the specs requirements of a 4K display are remarkable, both in terms of interface and graphics power.

MSI GS60 GHOST PRO 4K-079

This feature introduced in portable format seems to me even more complicated, if we take into account that the GS60 is a laptop that still relies on Nvidia Optimus, which is more a liability rather than an asset in the new generations of Nvidia graphics chips. This unit, therefore, gives way to doubts from the beginning.

The GE60 is an upgraded version of the older GE60, it continues the main features of the MSI this year in terms of design, chooses a more sturdy metal in the material of the outer lid, and can protect the screen better. In addition, the MSI GE60 uses a brushed metal design technology on the outer lid, at the same time the design of the strip lines gives the outer lid more sense of flow lines.

MSI G Series GS70 17.3-Inch Laptop Review(1TB HDD, 128GB x 2 SSD Super RAID0, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M)

MSI releases a new gaming laptop that turns a price-performance brand into a brand that offers something different to gamers.

Introduction

MSI has surprised us with a gaming laptop that looks very different from what we’re used to. Their latest gaming laptops have gone from affordable prices, to amazing specs and high prices, which has hurt their reputation with their user base a bit; this model, however, makes up for its price with a much smaller size and a specs that we haven’t seen before in laptops of this brand. The MSI GS70 is undoubtedly an uncommon gaming laptop without an equal in Europe, clearly designed to compete against the 17-inch Razer Blade Pro.

MSI releases the new GeForce GTX 760 HAWK, special for Overclockers

MSI has officially presented the new MSI N760 Hawk, a graphics card designed for Overclockers thanks to its Twin BIOS and new features tan not only increase the overclocking performance and possibilities, but also offer a professional overclocking performance without great technical knowledge.

As a cooling system for the new MSI N760 HAWK, MSI has once again included the famous Twin Frozr IV Advanced heat sink, which has two 10-centimeters fans, each on with PropellerBlade and Airflow Control technologies, to keep the N760 Hawk’s temperature as low as possible. According to MSI, this system can decrease the temperature by an additional 10ºC –compared to the reference model-, also reducing the noise by 12.48 dB.

MSI updates the GeForce GTX 770 Gaming with 4 GB of memory.

The new model of MSI’s gaming series with chip GTX 770 from NVIDIA comes with 4 GB GDDR5 RAM.

We could see the prototype at the Computex 2013, but the model that was officially released featured 2GB GDDR5 RAM. Now, MSI has officially presented the 4 GB version, something that will surely benefit those who like to play their games at high resolutions and with filters.

The design is identical to the 2 GB one we already knew, with a customized design and a TwinFrozr 4 cooling system with double 100-mm fans, copper heat pipes and an aluminum-made heat sink. It can be over clocked, reaching speeds of 1137/1189 MHz for the GPU, without and with turbo, respectively. The 4 GB GDDR5 RAM works at 7000 MHz.

Naturally, it will be slightly more expensive than its 2 GB counterpart: if that one costs around 400 Euros, the new version with twice as much RAM will cost about 40-50 USD more.

By incorporating 4th generation Intel processors, the CPU performance and battery life are improved. Also, these models feature the latest Nvidia graphics cards, the GTX765M and GTX50M depending on the laptop you choose, which will undoubtedly improve the performance of your games, these models’ priority.

Another important feature is the GE70 and GE60’s MSI Super RAID technology, with two SSD devices configures in RAID0. This means their data transfer rate will theoretically reach up to 1000 Mb/s, which will make the system boot really fast and reduce loading times in games. My points about MSI GT70

I’d like to take up a couple of points around the MSI GT70, the Fang III X7-100.

Firstly, considering you have mentioned build quality a couple of times in relation to other notebooks listed in this article, it’s worth pointing out that the build quality of the GT70 is poor. The plastics used are extremely fimble and there is noticeable flex in the underside of the chassis. Although it may have more “verve and style than Clevo’s notebooks” as Dustin mentions in his referred review, it does look a lot more tackier than the P150EM in comparison.

MSI G Series GT70 0NE-452US Review

The latest offering in the G Series gaming laptop is definitely getting some buzz. Having been released in July of last year it was touted as the most advanced gaming laptop on the market. But a few months can be the equivalent of years in computer terms, so how has the old GT70 stood the test of time? Let’s take a look!

The Good

Power is what this bad boy was built for, and power it retains. The graphics card it has (the GTX 680M) is just one peg down from the latest flagship GeForce GTX series laptop cards, meaning that it has lost little in terms of graphical power in the months since it was launched.
