According to their plain, Seagate has announced at the NAB 2014 in Las Vegas the world’s fastest 6TB hard drive. The Seagate Enterprise Capacity 3.5 HDD v4 is a huge step forward in the world of storage devices.
With its 3.5-inch size, this device features both SAS 12 GB/s interface as well as SATA 6 GB/s, has a 128-MB cache, Self-Encrypting Drive system (AES-256) with FIPS 140-2 validation, and like we said, it is designed for cloud storage servers and professional users.
It has a speed of 7200 RPM and has an excellent humidity sensor. It is clearly designed for the business environment, as it complies with the T10 and T13 energy management standards, enabling companies to design their systems with the optimal use of this device in mind.
Seagate’s marketing division vice president, Scott Horn, said the following:
"The growth of unstructured data is growing exponentially. We believe we’ll be seeing disks with a capacity of 16 Zettabytes by 2017. This will make cloud service providers seek innovative ways to store more information in less space, while reducing operational costs"

The HDD is being distributed to Seagate partners and will soon be released to the public.
