Within a few years, Lenovo has successfully beat HP and become the first PC producer in the world. Although the PC industry is bad-mouthed, Lenovo has stimulated and nibbled away the global PC market shares through continuous innovations and new products. The YOGA of Lenovo is such a product line, the successful innovation of four operating modes (Laptop, Tent, Stand, Tablet) seems to be a spring breeze blowing in the whole industry.
The New YOGA 3 11 inch is upgraded to the new fanless design, fashionable, portable, thin and light, fanless, these designs will become the main symbols of this product.
The Yoga 3 11 inch is the upgraded one of the YOGA 11s in theory, but it also has some features unlike other products upgraded by architecture platform. The YOGA 3 11 uses the 5Y10 processor of Intel’s fifth-generation 14NM Broadwell platform, clocked at 0.8GHz, and at the same time it comes with 4GB of memory and a combination of 128GB and 256GB SSD, lightweight and portable for carrying around, when needed, it can be quickly started. The YOGA 3 11 is basically of no much difference from the previous generation, almost the same in overall appearance: it uses rubber-like materials in its orange outer and bottom panel and has a really nice hand feel; the use of composite materials in the whole machine also makes it get a good balance in portability and durability.
It is configured with a wide viewing angle IPS screen of 11.6 inches, with the best resolution of 1920 * 1080, supporting 10-point touch technology. Not only is it colorful and transparent, but the brightness is reached 300Nits.
It is equipped with a camera and a light sensor on the top of the screen, and the Windows buttons at the bottom are changed to the touch buttons, with moderate touch screen frames.
Another big advantage of the YOGA3 is that it’s thin and light, with the whole thickness being 15.8mm, with the weight being only 1.1kg, and with the traveling weight being only 1.3kg or so, thinner and lighter than the previous generation, such a control of the body measurements is very convenient for carrying around, and it can even be put in the women’s bags.
The YOGA 3 11 uses the island-style keyboard design which is nowadays popular, exactly the same as the new YOGA 3 Pro 11 . The keyboard doesn’t feel worse because of the smaller size, and not a bit worse compared with the ultrabooks in the market mainstream.
It adopts a one-piece design in the touch pad, with excellent touch feeling, very sensitive reaction rate, and with the surrounding metal outer ring being very decorate in style. The new YOGA 3 11 adopts metal wire drawing craft in the palm rest, which has more sense of design, and which makes it look very stylish.
Due to the YOGA 3 11’s slimmer body design, Lenovo also makes adjustments to its interface layout, equipping it with the DC IN composite interface (it can be used as USB when unplugged), USB 3.0, Micro-HDMI and SD card reader on the left, and with USB 2.0, volume control, screen lock, a key save, the power button and the headphone jack on the right. For an ultrabook of 15.8mm thick, this type of interface configuration has been regarded as the limit.
Thanks to the fanless Core M, the YOGA 3 11 does not leave any vents in the bottom panel, not even in any other parts of the machine, which also makes the body maintain a ultra-high level of integration. On the chassis, the Lenovo YOGA 3 11 sets two holes of speakers at the bottom, with nothing else, it looks very clean.
The maximum playability of the YOGA series is that they can be flipped from the ultrabooks to tablet pcs freely and instantly. Although they are targeted at entertainment products, they can be used as business ones due to their variation ability. It is very difficult to achieve flip, especially to solve the problems in hinges and internal cables. According to Lenovo the hinge of the YOGA is Lenovo’s patent, with smooth actual operating experience, with good shaft damping, and with no phenomenon of being insecure or loose.
When one is operating in the tablet mode, standing made or tent mode, there is a high risk of the keyboard being mispressed, leading to a maloperation. So when you open the YOGA 3 11 screen and swing it out by more than 180 degrees, the keyboard will be locked automatically, and you need not to worry about any physical damage that foreign objects may cause to the keyboard because the palm rest area is positioned above the keyboard surface, which offers some protection when you operate in the standing mode.
Moreover, because LENOVO YOGA 3 11 has a built-in G-sensor you can find its switch on the right part of the screen frame.
In addition to improvement in ease of use for hardware such as the hinge, optimization by Harmony of software including various apps is also offered.

We used Furmark, a famous benchmarking utility, to test the laptop, with the results of what it performed shown in the chart above. One benefit brought about by the Core M-based fan-free design is the absolute silence achieved on YOGA 3 11，an important feature for users who pay attention of user experience.
The Core M series of Intel CPUs use 14 nm technology, with power consumption lowered to 4. 5W, a 30% improvement over that of the previous model, as well as less heat generated, which is necessary for longtime continued operation. Game playing is not the strong point of YOGA3, but that does not mean that it has nothing to do with play. With exceptionally performing core M 5Y10 processor and HD 5300 gpu can also run upper-low range games smoothly.
We tested two mainstream Internet games, Counter-Strike and League of Legends, with test results given below.
With resolution set to 1024×768 and image quality remaining the same. we got an outstanding average score of 35 fps, with the highest record reaching a surprising 59 fps. Its engine is relatively old and even outdated, of course, but as an FPS game it still puts some stress on hardware. The test results have shown clearly that YOGA3 can run it easily, without any difficulty.
League of Legends
With resolution also set to 1024×768 and image quality set to a low level, and antialiasing effect turned off, an average score of 23 fps was obtained, representing a basically smooth running condition. When the two warring players engage in a massive fight, resulting in a highly dynamic scene, a low level of screen lag may occur. The frame rate may fall down to as low as single figures, but only for an instantaneous moment.
Colourful appearance, ultra-light and thin body and four different modes of operation are already good enough elements to attract eyes for this ultrabook, while Intel new G5 fan-free Core M processor adds another advantage to it. Highly integrated body design, ultra-long battery life and remarkable low-noise feature all benefit from Core M, which keeps alive the distinguished workmanship embodied in the YOGA line. It is hard to imagine that such a highly cost-effective product is priced just at $799.
