With a 21:9 format and a 2560 x 1080 resolution, this monitor features an AH-IPS panel with a design characteristic from ASUS’ Designo series.
We already could see it at the CES 2013; the ASUS Designo MX299Q is a monitor with a design and looks similar to those under the Designo series, except for the 16:9 format, which has been changed for an ultra-wide 29-inch, 21:9 format. Its resolution: 2560 x 1080. Its AH-IPS panel can provide an angle of view of up to 178 degrees. It has a dynamic contrast of 80.000.000:1 and a maximum luminosity of 300 cd/m2. Its response time is 5ms from gray to gray.
The 21:9 format is oriented to emulate a “cinema” feel, since it’s very similar to that used in theater screens.
It features the well-know ASUS SonicMaster speakers, -designed with help of Bang & Olufsen ICEpower- with a MobileSound 3 chip that sands the sound to the two 3W speakers.
Like other ASUS ProArt professional monitors, it features the QuickFit Virtual Scale, a grid that helps us to quickly and easily measure whatever is on-screen in real time.
In regards to video and audio connection, we have the following ports: DisplayPort, HDMI with MHL, Dual-lin DVI, and 3.5 minijack input and output.
It will cost 599 USD approximately.
